One Week Down

We asked, and boy, did Chester County deliver. Our incredible community members have rallied together to help spread the word, give back, and protect our hard-working County workers. Here are some amazing updates since we started this project (A week ago):

  • We’ve added more six more drop-off locations bringing our total to 10.
  • Our Masketeers have delivered 881 handmade masks to community workers! We’d like to thank our wonderful volunteers!
  • The Daily Local News and Hello, West Chester wrote about the project. Thank you!
  • Those who can’t sew, donate. We’ve collected cotton fabric, elastic, materials, and sewing machines from donors around the county. We appreciate donations from Kristin Wolf, Melissa Hoffman, Days for Girls Wayne PA Team, and Comfort Care.
  • We’re growing, growing, and growing. Our core volunteer group is up to 20 people and we’re getting multiple requests a day to join our Volunteer Facebook group with over 200 members!
  • Since our volunteers are moving so quickly, we feel it won’t be long before we make enough masks for our essential county workers. After that point, we will be able to fulfill requests from community groups. Please contact us to let us know how many masks your group will need. You will be notified when they will be available.

Want to get involved? Start sewing, view other volunteer opportunities, make a donation, or simply share this project. The more we share, the more we can sew, and the more lives we can save.
